Man arrested after allegedly throwing woman off of car at 'high speeds' in Youngstown
A man is behind bars after allegedly throwing a woman off of his car at a high speeds on Saturday, April 20.
Craig Washington, has been charged with domestic violence and aggravated vehicular assault. He was also cited for reckless operation of a vehicle.
The incident happened near The Social on West Commerce and North Phelps streets around 1 a.m., according to a police report.
Officers heard a commotion breaking out in a parking lot nearby and saw a silver Hyundai Tucson reverse quickly with a female holding onto the driver side window. The vehicle, driven by Washington, stopped and accelerated with the victim still holding on.
Washington then swerved the car "excessively" trying to get the female off, even going off the road. Eventually the victim was thrown from the car, landing in the middle of the road.
Police pursued Washington and arrested him, he is now being held at the Mahoning County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
The victim was taken to the hospital for her injuries.
At this time, it's unclear when Washington will be in court.
