Police are investigating following the theft of a plaque with deer antlers from a Boardman bar and restaurant.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to Twin Peaks in Boardman shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday in reference to a male suspect stealing a decoration from the wall.

The decoration in question was a plaque with deer antlers on it, which police say is brought to customers' tables as part of a ceremony during celebrations such as birthdays.

Police say surveillance camera video shows a white male with a heavier build standing just over six feet tall with a short dark beard wearing jeans, cowboy boots, a blue hoodie and a baseball cap sitting at a high top table with four other people.

Shortly after midnight, the suspect is seen leaving the table and walking up to the hostess stand while the others at the table look at him and laugh.

Police say when the hostess left the stand, the male grabbed the plaque off the wall and ran out of the restaurant with it. A witness told police the male fled in a dark-colored pickup truck.

Employees told police they did not know how much a replacement plaque would cost, but said it would not be cheap to replace.
