1999:  The Coasters, The Four Seasons, The Four Tops, The Temptations, and Little: Anthony and the Imperials are among the groups being inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon. 
 
Professors at Youngstown State University may make more than some of their counterparts at schools nationwide, but at an average of $66,000 a year, they rank lowest among Ohio universities.
 
A 17-year-old boy will spend the weekend in the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center after being accused of making threats to kill fellow students at Hubbard High School. 
 
1984: Speaking at the Youngstown Municipal Airport, Walter Mondale, running for the Democratic presidential nomination, says President Ronald Reagan's policies are responsible for the Mahoning Valley's economic malaise. 
 
A $200,000 project to line Warren's Courthouse Square with old-fashioned globe-style streetlights is completed, and the lights are turned on as part of a ceremony that also includes the rededication of the bandstand.  
 
Thirteen people who say they were terrorized by two brothers, one a Mahoning County deputy sheriff and the other a reserve deputy, at Mr. C's Lounge in New Middletown on April 16 file felonious assault charges against the men. 
 
1974: The New York State Assembly votes to restore a $5 bounty for dead rattlesnakes. The rattler population is said to be rising spectacularly in wilderness areas. 
Mineral Ridge High School students present "The Music Man" at the high school auditorium, starring Don Clarke, Cathie Mason, Darren Garris, and Connie Fitch. 
   
1949: Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co.'s busy Youngstown plants will fill a big share of one of the biggest Yugoslav orders placed in the United States since Marshal Tito's break with the Communist Information Bureau. It is for several million dollars worth of drilling equipment. 
 
Thirty-five members of the Youngstown Nature Club narrowly escaped falling trees while on a hike through the bottom lands of Hitchcock Woods in Upper Mill Creek Park. A sudden rain and wind storm downed large trees immediately ahead of and behind the group.
