The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is inviting the public to view and give their input on a project to improve a Hermitage roadway.

The project will consist of work on Lamor Road (Route 3020) between the intersection with Route 18 and the intersection with North Keel Ridge Road (SR-3011).

Work will consist of milling and paving, as well as widening the road to include four-foot shoulders, updated drainage and concrete curbs along each side. Additionally, the road west of the Carol S. Gurrera Village driveway will be improved to design criteria for 35 mph speeds.

In addition, work will include completion of a missing segment of sidewalk along the left side of the road from the intersection with Route 18 to Valley View Road. The intersection radius will also improve for larger vehicles turning right from North Keel Ridge Road to westbound Lamor Road.

Work is expected to occur during the 2025 construction season. During this time, a detour is expected to be in place for about eight month and will utilize North Keel Ridge Road, Route 68 and Route 18.

Lamor Road will remain open to local traffic and property owners will still have access to their properties during construction. Local traffic will be controlled by flaggers and short-term traffic controls.

The Carol S. Gurrera Village driveway will also be closed during construction. Access to the village will be maintained through the North Keel Ridge Road driveway.
