Lake to River accepts $100,000 check for economic development across Valley

Back in April, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine revealed the Lake to River economic development district from JobsOhio, which encompasses all three Valley counties plus Ashtabula County.
Now, Lake to River has accepted a $100,000 check from the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments to help them get started.
According to a press release, Eastgate Executive Director Jim Kinnick presented the check as a commitment to working together and sharing resources.
"As an economic development partner, we certainly recognize the abundant opportunities in business attraction that exist and look forward with great anticipation to what lies ahead as we, together, grow this region," Kinnick said.
Lake to River Vice President Michael McGiffin cited other previously-announced investments from Trumbull and Mahoning County Commissioners, the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber Foundation and the Cafaro family as core to Lake to River's Foundation.
"Investing with us yields long-term growth in jobs, productivity and wealth for employers and residents in the industries that drive our region's economy," McGiffin said.
