A Youngstown man is currently behind bars after police say he stabbed a man in the arm during an argument.

According to a police report from YPD, officers went to an apartment on the 900 Block of Kendis Circle for a  stabbing victim.

When they got there,  police entered the apartment and noticed a moderate amount of blood in the vestibule, on the door and on the walls and found the victim on the living room couch bleeding profusely from the arm.

The victim told police he was stabbed by his neighbor, identified as 67-year-old Michael Cobb. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police arrived at Cobb's apartment and ordered him to come out with his hands up at gun and taser point. Police say Cobb did not comply at first, but did soon after.

Once Cobb was detained, he told police that the victim had struck him first with a speaker. Police observed a small scratch, as well as a bruise on Cobb's forehead.

A witness told police the victim and his wife were walking into their apartment when Cobb started making remarks to the wife.

The witness told officers the victim told Cobb to stop and Cobb responded by swinging a knife at him. Police say the victim used a bag to try to  block Cobb  but Cobb was eventually able to stab the victim in the arm and flee back to his apartment.

Cobb was booked in the Mahoning County Jail. He is charged with one count of felonious assault.
