Grove City man thrown from SUV, dies in Mercer County crash
A Grove City man died Wednesday after the SUV he was thrown from an SUV during a crash with a pickup truck in Mercer County.
State Police says 44-year-old Jason Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision between a Chevy Equinox and a Chevy Silverado at Sandy Lake Grove City Road and Millbrook Road at 2:30 p.m. in Worth Township.
According to troopers, the pickup truck driven by 71-year-old Larry Simpson of Brookville, Pennsylvania didn't stop at the stop sign and pulled out from Millbrook Road, into the path of the SUV.
During the crash, the SUV flipped over, ejecting Lewis, who was a passenger.
The driver of the SUV, 67-year-old Cindy Lewis of Grove City, was flown to a Youngstown Hospital for treatment.
Simpson was taken to a Grove City hospital with a minor injury.
Police say they are still investigating.
