$100K given to Columbiana Co. to protect Little Beaver Creek water quality
Columbiana County is receiving $100,000 in funding to protect the water quality of Little Beaver Creek in St. Clair Township.
According to the release, the funding comes from the H2Ohio program, a water quality initiative working toward long-term improvements for the state's water resources.
The money from the H2Ohio program will be used to buy land within the Little Beaver Creek State Wild and National Scenic River corridor to help protect water quality, improve the area surrounding the corridor and create opportunities for fishing and hiking.
"The H2Ohio program has been a tremendous resource for our region," said Robb Blasdel. "Ensuring that the water quality around us is protected and creating opportunities for residents to enjoy the outdoors is not just a win-win, but another example of investing in the future of Columbiana County."
