YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Actress and painter Kim Novak has a new exhibit coming to the Butler Institute of American Art beginning in June.

Novak will return to the Butler with her "My Treasure Hunt of Emotions" exhibit beginning June 2 and lasting until August 18.

Folks will have the opportunity to come and meet Novak between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. June 2. Immediately after this in the Zona Auditorium, there will be a screening of a 30-minute documentary Novak made with French company Tangerine.

The new exhibit will feature Novak's most recent paintings. A number of which were painted during the isolation period of the COVID-19 pandemic and some are even more recent.

The exhibition is sponsored by PNC Bank and can be seen in the Giffuni Gallery.

According to a press release, Novak has painted for most of her life and considers what she does a "storytelling art."

"Since childhood I have looked at life through the magnifying lens of a very vivid imagination. I enjoy dissected insights, painting visions and often turning words into verse, my rhyming words into kind of a treasure hunt," Novak said.
