WRTA buses back in service following downtown Youngstown explosion

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - WRTA buses are back in service following a temporary pause due to an explosion in downtown Youngstown Tuesday afternoon.
Following an explosion at the Realty Building, which housed Chase Bank on its first floor, as well as numerous apartments, WRTA halted its services stating that buses were not allowed to leave the station until further notice.
As of 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, buses are now back on their routes and transporting riders once again.
The explosion caused quite the disruption in downtown Youngstown with all Mahoning County buildings closing for the day, early voting being halted and other businesses closing their doors for the day.
The explosion sent seven people to the hospital with one of them being in critical condition. The body of a Chase Bank employee was found in the rubble early Wednesday morning.
Another person was also unaccounted for, but officials now believe she was not in the building at the time of the explosion.
