NBC News is reporting that President Joe Biden has announced that Israel is offering a a three-part plan that would put a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and release all hostages who had been there for the last eight months.

NBC reports that the first phase would start with a complete ceasefire including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas of Gaza and the release of women and children hostages.

According to NBC, the initial stage also include a surge of humanitarian assistance with 600 trucks carrying aid into Gaza every day.

NBC quotes President Biden saying this first phase could have major hurdles and that a number of things would need to be negotiated in order to move on from phase one to two.

According to NBC, the second phase would involve the release of all living hostages in exchange for Palestinians imprisoned in Israel. 

NBC reports the final phase will be the start of a major reconstruction plan in Gaza and any final remains of hostages would be returned to their families.
