Authorities are looking into what caused a car to drive into a utility pole in Austintown near the intersection of Laurie Drive and Landcaster Drive.

Authorities are looking into what caused a car to drive into a utility pole in Austintown.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Laurie Drive and Landcaster Drive.

A small white Chevrolet car went off the road and collided with a utility pole, causing it to lean and the wires connected to hang low.

There were no reported power outages, but Ohio Edison arrived on the scene shortly after the crash to assess any damages.

There's no word yet on the status of the driver, but an ambulance was present on-scene.
