Police say a victim isn’t speaking to investigators about a shooting that left a Warren neighborhood “littered with cartridge casings.”

A media release from Police reports that the shooting happened on the 2300 block of Stephens Avenue NW just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the shooting took place in a front yard where children were playing “in the line of fire”.

The shooting victim was hospitalized with wounds that police say are not life-threatening.

“Undeterred by persistent efforts from the Warren Police Investigators, the victim refused cooperation despite the risk placed on the community and neighborhood filled with young children,” police said in the news release.

Police ask anyone with information that would help identify those involved in the shooting to contact Warren Police Department Criminal Investigations regarding case 24-12835 at 330.841.2684.
