A Pennsylvania non-profit is urging state residents to donate blood to help fight off a summer blood shortage.

Vitalant is hosting a series of blood drives, in hopes of getting ahead of a annual shortage that typically falls around the Fourth of July.

All donors who give blood between July 1st and July 7th and opt-in to Donor Rewards can get a free "Team Donor" t-shirt.

Plus, from July 8th to the 27th, donors will be automatically entered into Vitalant's Summer Car Giveaway for a vehicle valued up to $30,000.
