Hometown Pharmacy at Boardman Sparkle Market experiencing struggles due to ongoing construction

BOARDMAN, Ohio - With several Rite Aid stores across the Valley recently closing or getting ready to close, customers across the Valley are scrambling to find a new pharmacy.
Hometown Pharmacy Senior Vice President Ron McDermott tells 21 News the Hometown Pharmacy in Sparkle Market on Western Reserve Road in Boardman is still open and ready to serve customers, but is experiencing difficulties.
McDermott tells 21 News work on the ongoing waterline replacement and road widening project on Western Reserve Road is currently taking place right at the store and is blocking access.
McDermott says one way is blocked off entirely, the other way is accessible with guidance from construction crews.
"Although you can get in from one side by asking the workers for access, it's not obvious and not easy. The grocery store is down a huge amount and we are having to deliver most prescriptions because people think they can't get in," McDermott said.
McDermott is reminding customers that the pharmacy is still open and ready to help anyone who needs it, including former Rite Aid customers looking for a new pharmacy.
