Kent State University's Trumbull Campus closed due to power outage

WARREN, Ohio - Thousands in the Mahoning Valley are still without power following Tuesday's severe weather, and those outages are impacting one local college campus.
Kent State University PR and Marketing Manager Bill Burgess told 21 News the university's Trumbull County campus is currently closed due to a power outage on campus.
Burgess says students should have already received a Flash Alert regarding this outage and will receive another once power has been restored to campus.
FirstEnergy's outage map shows 8,626 customers still without power as of this writing.
The most prominent locations for outages at this time include:
- Champion Township with 2,487 (61% of customers)
- Greene Township with 349 outages (90% of customers)
- Gustavus Township with 398 (100% of customers)
- Johnston Township with 594 outages (77% of customers)
- Kinsman Township with 921 outages (99% of customers)
- Vernon Township with 518 outages (80% of customers)
- Warren with 1,355 (7% of customers)
Meanwhile, Columbiana and Mahoning Counties are reporting significantly less outages with Columbiana only reporting 135 and Mahoning reporting 1,624.
