A Liberty woman is going back to prison after pleading guilty to a felony robbery charge.

Yazmeen Green, 24, was sentenced to an indefinite prison term of three to four years on the robbery charge with a firearm specification. She'll serve at least one year behind bars because a gun was used in the crime.

According to the release, Green's charges are connected to a shoplifting case on February 14, 2024, at the Walmart on Belmont Avenue where she took out a semi-automatic handgun to put into a holster on the display floor. She took the holster out of the store without paying for it, and ran from police, dropping her jacket and the gun during the pursuit.

At the time of the shoplifting case, Green was on judicial release from her prison term for a failure to comply conviction in October 2022 in Mahoning County.

She also faced a charge of carrying a concealed weapon but it was dropped as part of the guilty plea for the robbery.

Green will return to the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville for her prison term.
