Back to school fair answers questions in Canfield answers questions about IEPs, behavioral disorders
Back to school is an exciting time, but it can trigger some extra anxiety for parents of kids with behavioral disorders and developmental disabilities.
The professionals at Community Behavior Consulting in Canfield spent Saturday helping parents work through those fears.
They held a back-to-school information fair for people to sit down with educators, ask questions, and go over their child's IEP.
The company hopes the resource fair will help parents know what to expect when children head back to the classroom.
"There's no handbook when your child receives a diagnosis or if your child has special education services in school," Community Behavior Consulting Director Jen Gonda said. "This really helps parents understand the process and understand some of those tips for navigating the process."
While parents had their questions answered, the kids got to play and make sensory boxes.
