Ohio - Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has officially approved for Republican State Representative Tex Fischer to appear on the November 5th ballot.

Fischer's eligibility was brought into question in August by Chris Anderson, the Chair of the Mahoning County Democratic Party, who accused Fischer of improperly filing for candidacy and filed a protest against him.

Fischer changed his name a few years ago, and Anderson said that when Fischer filed for candidacy, he did not lawfully disclose his legal name change as required by law.

Fischer is running for a full term to represent Ohio's 58th district, after filling Al Cutrona's seat, who took over for Mike Rulli, when he replaced Congressman Bill Johnson.

After a vote at the Mahoning County Board of Elections ended in a tie, with two board member's voting in favor of Fischer's certification, and two against, the matter went to Secretary of State Frank LaRose's office.

LaRose ruled that Fischer is eligible to appear on the November 5th ballot.
