Fire hydrant flushing to begin in Howland Tuesday

HOWLAND, Ohio - Fire hydrant flushing is set to begin in Howland on Tuesday, September 10.
The flushing process is expected to last about two weeks and will take place between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays.
During this time, residents may notice discoloration in their water or experience lower than normal water pressure.
Residents are encouraged to check their water pressure before doing tasks like laundry, cooking or showering. In the case this does occur, the water lines may be cleared by running the washer on the full cold water cycle with no clothes inside.
Residents are also asked to check all other fixtures and let the water run until it's clear again.
As for those on the road, drivers are asked to watch out for crews working on or near the roadways and use caution and slow down when approaching them.
