Warren court facing challenges arraigning man accused of beating pregnant Trumbull Regional nurse
A Youngstown man accused of brutally beating a pregnant nurse at Trumbull Regional Medical Center was set to be arraigned in the Warren Municipal Court Wednesday morning.
However, court employees tell 21 News arraigning the suspect has been quite the challenge.
According to court records, 35-year-old Roge Berger was originally supposed to be arraigned Monday, September 16. That arraignment was continued to Tuesday, then continued again to Wednesday and is now continued to Thursday, September 19.
Court employees tell 21 News the reason for these continuances is that Berger has been refusing to come out of his cell at the Trumbull County Jail.
Berger is charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault after he allegedly slammed a pregnant nurse into her car followed by grabbing her by the hair and punching her in the face over 20 times.
He is expected to answer to these charges Thursday morning.
