YSU Police are calling on the public to identify a suspect accused of shooting at students with an airsoft gun while making xenophobic remarks at them.

According to a report from the YSU Police Department, the incident happened Saturday night shortly after 10:30 near Kilcawley Center.

The two victims told police they were with a group of friends by the water fountain outside of Kilcawley when a man rode by on a bicycle, pulled out an airsoft gun and fired over a dozen pellets at them.

Police say the man yelled "go back to your country" at the students.

According to the report, the one of the students was hit on the wrist and another was hit on the shoulder. Police did not see any visible injuries on either student.

None of the other people in the group were hit by the pellets.

In an interview on WFMJ Midday, YSU President Bill Johnson said he could not comment much on the matter as it is an ongoing investigation, but says the university will "get to the bottom of it."

The man (pictured above) is described as a Black male believed to be in his early 20s wearing a baseball cap and a black and red backpack riding a bicycle.
