WARREN TWP., Ohio - The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is offering a reward of $500 for anyone who can identify the owner of a dog that was found dead inside a crate in Warren Township Wednesday afternoon.

Healthy Hearts and Paws Project President and CEO Jason Cooke says he was contacted by the Warren Township Police Department who found the body of a dog laying inside an overturned crate in a ditch on Davis Street.

Cooke says the dog appeared to be emaciated and the crate was covered with feces. A water dish was found flipped over in the crate.

Cooke says he will personally give a reward of $500 to anyone who could provide information that would lead to the arrest of the owner of the dog or whoever might have abandoned it.

"This poor dog didn't deserve this. No animal does. And I am going to make it my life's mission to bring her justice," Cooke said in a Facebook post.

If you have any information on this case or who might have abandoned the dog, you're asked to contact the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project or the Warren Township Police Department.
