Senator Sherrod Brown visits UAW 1112 in Lordstown to speak with autoworkers

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown visited the Mahoning Valley Friday afternoon.
Senator Brown stopped in Lordstown, to speak with UAW 1112 local autoworkers, and called on the Biden Administration to stop China from sending cars, trucks, and other goods through the Mexican border.
Brown said this hurts U.S. manufacturing be evading tariffs and trade enforcement, and that he doesn't care what kind of car people drive, but that he wants to help keep auto jobs here in the Valley.
"I just want these cars to be made by union workers in the United States, and I'll do whatever it takes to sure these cars are manufactured here," said Senator Brown.
UAW Local 1112 President George Goranitis said that the branch supports Brown, and his drive to keep autoworker jobs alive.
Goranitis spoke about the closure of Lordstown, and said that when jobs were lost there, many people had to leave the Valley and in turn, businesses were affected.
"Not only does it help autoworkers, everyone talks about autoworkers losing their jobs, but it's not just autoworkers, it's a trickle down effect," said Goranitis.
