WARREN, Ohio - A Warren woman has pled not guilty to a charge against her after two dogs were rescued from an abandoned home in Warren Saturday morning.
21-year-old Hannah Bishop was arraigned Thursday morning where she pled not guilty to one misdemeanor count of abandoning animals.
Charges were filed after the Healthy Heart and Paws Project received a call from Warren Police about two dogs that had been left in an abandoned home on Forest Street North West.
Once on scene, Healthy Heart and Paws CEO and President Jason Cooke found two dogs that were left in deplorable conditions.
Besides the dogs, there were no current residents in the home, which was covered in trash, feces and urine.
Cooke also identified a half-eaten cat in the home.
According to Cooke, the dogs suffered from hair loss due to fleas, and were underweight. Both dogs were taken to the Healthy Heart and Paws shelter, where they are safe.
Bishop is due back in court November 21.
