Valley man to be inducted in Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in November

One Valley man was chosen to be part of the 2024 Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame's annual induction ceremony on November 7.
The local man is Marshall P. Bahr, Army, Columbiana County. He has been selected to join the inductees for his work helping vets and the community after his time as a combat medic.
Here is Bahr's bio from the website: 'Marshall Bahr, a distinguished combat veteran and physician, has made significant contributions to healthcare, veterans advocacy and community service following his military career. After serving as a combat medic in Army Special Operations, Marshall transitioned into civilian life with a mission to improve healthcare accessibility and support for veterans. He founded Vanguard Medical Services, providing primary care to low-income and incarcerated patients. He also established Lead The Way Recovery, the first outpatient center in Salem, OH, focused on treating substance use disorders, especially for veterans. In his current role with BayMark Health Services, one of the largest addiction treatment centers in the nation, as Regional Director of Medical/Clinical Operations, he has led patient initiatives that earned one of his clinics the 2022 National Clinic of the Year award. Marshall’s commitment to veterans includes founding the Helping Heroes Program, aiding veterans with PTSD and substance abuse and working with the Pat Tillman Foundation to support military families. His consulting firm, Xterra Health, assists disabled veterans in navigating VA disability claims. In addition to his healthcare and advocacy work, Marshall has been a community leader, helping to secure funding for a new school in Salem and advocating for addiction treatment in correctional facilities. His exemplary service earns him induction into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame at age 39.'
