YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown Police have arrested a man suspected of trying abduct a woman.

On Wednesday, city detectives arrested 48-year-old Mark Parker along Balsam Court on the city’s southside.  Parker was wanted for attempted abduction.

Police have been looking for Parker since Monday when a woman reported that someone tried to abduct her an her way to work, adding that she had notice he was following the bus she was on from stop to stop.

"When she got out of the bus to go to work; that is when he approached her and tried to force her into the motor vehicle, and she was able to thwart that.", said Detective Captain Jason Simon.

Thanks to swift action and notice from the victim, police were able to track down his location using surveillance cameras.

A news release from the police department credits quick, professional and thorough work by the YPD Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau that lead to the identification of, and warrant for Parker.

 Parker, who was released from prison in May of this year after serving over 20 years for the charges of Aggravated Burglary, Kidnapping, and Rape, will face parole violations as well.
