Update: Man pulled from Shenango Reservoir identified; vehicle found with submersible drone

The Mercer County coroner has identified the driver pulled from the waters of the Shenango Reservoir.
According to a press release, 72-year-old Robert Humphrey of Hermitage was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon after crews pulled his body inside a car in the river around 2 pm.
Crews were first called to the scene Friday evening, for reports that a vehicle drove into the ice at the Mahaney Access Boat Ramp in Sharpsville.
South Pymatuning Police Chief Matt Roth, in a released statement, said it is believed Humphrey became confused and accidentally drove onto the ice.
Roth said that a witness reported seeing a small blue car at the Mahaneyt Park boat launch around 5:30 pm and drove onto the ice.
The witness told police the car drove north on the frozen lake until it broke through the ice.
Officials on scene told 21 News they did not see any apparent signs that anyone had driven through the ice, but a dive team was called out to search under the water.
However, the dive team's search yielded negative results with officials saying it was too dark to see anything under the water.
On Saturday, crews returned to the scene to continue to the search. With a submersible drone, rescue crews positively identified the vehicle at the bottom of Shenango Lake, but a recovery was not possible.
Humphrey's vehicle broke through the ice of the reservoir while he was driving atop the ice-covered surface beginning at the Mahaney Boat Launch near the Shenango Dam.
The cause of death has been determined as asphyxia resulting from aquatic submersion, and has been ruled accidental.
