A quieter but colder day is on tap to end the work week. High temperatures will struggle to get above 30 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. Clouds will start to build back in overnight as our next area of low pressure approaches the region.

Saturday will start dry, but a wintry mix will arrive late in the day. Sleet and freezing rain will be the main precipitation type south of I-80. Northern portions of our area could see some wet snowflakes mix in for a period of time. Either way, travel will be slick across the region Saturday night.

Precipitation will mostly come to an end early Sunday morning, with just a leftover flurry or two after daybreak. High temperatures will be in the low 30s on both Sunday and Monday with mostly cloudy skies. Things will become much more active during the middle of the week with more chances for wintry weather.

A storm system passing to our southeast late Tuesday will bring the chance for some light snowfall. Snow will generally taper off by Wednesday morning, but another area of low pressure will immediately follow, bringing a mix of precipitation types to the valley Wednesday night into Thursday.
