Tickets are now on sale for the Mercer County Food Bank's "Empty Bowls" fundraiser, scheduled for Thursday, April 3, at the Hickory VFW in Sharon.

The event, which runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., will include soup, bread, dessert, a beverage, and a handcrafted bowl.

Handcrafted bowls are created by local artists during a "Throw Down" event hosted by HopeCat & Studio 83, and by students throughout the school year.

The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction, a basket raffle, live music, and a cash bar. Each ticket purchased will provide 120 meals to individuals facing hunger in Mercer County.

The Mercer County Food Bank, a partner of Feeding America, distributes food through a network of more than 50 member agencies and nine direct distribution programs. In 2024, the organization distributed 3 million pounds of food.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by contacting Patty Tucker, development coordinator for the food bank, at 724-981-0353, extension 103, or [email protected]. Tickets are also available online at www.mercercountyfoodbank.org.
