Ohio Controlling Board approves over $876,000 for YSU IT infrastructure project

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ohio Controlling Board has approved over $876,000 for an IT infrastructure project for Youngstown State University.
The Board approved $876,366.90 for the project, which will be used to upgrade the university's IT infrastructure and purchase the necessary equipment to sustainably upgrade its data center.
The equipment being replaced is about eight years old and has reached the end of its life cycle. The new equipment will be from Ohio-based company Brown Enterprise Solutions LLC.
"YSU has always been committed to giving their students a quality education. Having up-to-date technology and the infrastructure to support everyone on campus is a key to accomplishing that mission," said Ohio State Representative Lauren McNally.
According to a press release, YSU is one of the largest employers in Youngstown and its IT department supports all employees, students and guests.
