Police are investigating two separate crashes that happened not far apart on Youngstown's east side.

The first one happened around 2:00 o'clock Sunday morning on Himrod Avenue near North Truesdale Avenue when a car crashed into the front porch of a home.

It's not clear what led up to crash but police say everyone involved fled the scene.  It's also not clear if anyone was injured but the vehicle involved suffered heavy damage.

A short time later, a vehicle police say was already fleeing from officers crashed into the back of a Youngstown police cruiser down the road on Loveless Avenue.

Police say the driver ran a stop sign hitting the cruiser.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The officer inside the cruiser was not injured.

Both incidents are under investigation.
