NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Some people may be surprised if they saw what was happening practically in the Valley’s backyard.

Recent training exercises included air drops and armed troops at the Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center near Newton Falls.

A C-130H Hercules aircraft from the 910th Airlift Wing based in Vienna conducted an airdrop on May 15 as part of an Integrated Defense Leadership Course exercise at the center.

The training scenario required Air Force Security Forces Defenders to locate and secure a container delivery system bundle while facing opposition forces.

The exercise is a component of a two-week, hands-on training program designed to ensure combat readiness for Air Force Security Forces Defenders.
