YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Business and Professional Women's Club (YBPW) has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to five women in the Valley seeking degrees in marketing, business and other fields.

"The vision of YBPW is the advancement and empowerment of women through mentorship and education. Awarding these scholarships ensures that YBPW will continue to live its vision and help support the education of the future female leaders of our Valley," says past president and YBPW Scholarship Committee Chairwoman Dee McFarland.

Each of these women were awarded a part of the $10,000 in scholarships through two separate scholarship programs offered by YBPW.

The Dr. Anne McMahon Scholarship is given through the YSU Foundation to students attending or planning to attend Youngstown State University.

The Centennial Scholarship is offered to women local to the Valley attending an accredited institution, such as a college, university or trade school within the region.

Below are the women (in order from left to right) receiving these scholarships.

Dr. Anne McMahon Scholarship Recipients:

  • Anna MacKenzie, attending YSU and majoring in Biology
  • Alexis Napolitan, attending YSU and majoring in Marketing

Centennial Scholarship Recipients:

  • Abigail Hughes, attending YSU and majoring in Business Administration
  • Aubree Neuhaus, attending Kent State University and majoring in Accounting and Business Administration
  • Riley Hostetler, attending Western Governors University majoring in Primary Education
