NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A New Castle man has been sentenced for trafficking fentanyl and fluorofentanyl.

According to the release, 38-year-old Kailin Stewart previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and 10 grams or more of fluorofentanyl between May 2021 and October 2022.

Stewart was handed a nearly six-year prison sentence for the crimes.

According to information presented to the court, Stewart was on state parole at the time after being released from an 11 to 40-year Pennsylvania state prison sentence for conspiracy to commit homicide.

Stewart's six-year sentence in federal prison will be served consecutively to any state parole sentence he receives.
