Mercer County Food Bank to hold food drive from truck

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Mercer County Food Bank is calling to the community to help and participate in a food drive it will be holding at County Market in Grove City on Saturday, June 21.
Stuff the Truck aims to bring members of the community together to gather non-perishable food items for those in need such as canned foods like proteins, vegetables and fruit, peanut butter, cereal and pasta.
According to the media release, 15,970 people or 14.5% of the population in Mercer County are classified as "food insecure" with 4,600 among those being children.
"The food bank is thrilled to be able to expand the Stuff the Truck event to the Grove City area," said Executive Director of Mercer County Food Bank Rebecca Page. "All donations collected are used to combat food insecurity within Mercer County."
The event is planned to go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
