COLUMBUS, Ohio- Unemployment benefits for out-of-work Ohioans are set to expire at the end of the month without an extension.

State officials are urging Congress to pass another extension to the benefits, arguing that without it as many as 30,000 people would lose benefits.

Ohio's unemployment rate is at 10.9 percent, higher than the national average of 10 percent.

In the Youngstown-Warren area, the rate is at 13 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
