There's new information on what the future holds for G-M Lordstown beyond the 2009 model year. 21 News has learned that the Lordstown plant will build SEVERAL new vehicles for the 2010 model year. Among them - is what's being called the next generation Cobalt. According to Motor Trend magazine - this is the all new Cobalt sedan - codenamed GMX-071 which will begin rolling off the Lordstown assembly line in July or August 2009. Besides the new look, the Cobalt will get a new name and a new badge. GM is expected to make the official announcement of the new Lordstown products after LOCAL UAW contracts are signed. Local 1714 union members are voting on a local agreement tomorrow. An agreement with Local 11-12 is expected by the end of this month.
