State officials creating confusion for 2012 elections
WARREN, Ohio - Bipartisan bickering in Columbus is creating plenty of confusion for local election officials.
Unless something changes, there are two primaries currently scheduled for 2012.
That's something election officials in Trumbull County say hasn't happened for at least the last 40 years.
There's also confusion over what to do with the state's congressional districts.
Republicans drew up the new map and Democrats are fighting it, leaving election officials in the middle.
"We don't know what districts to put in the database. We don't know how to assign people to what districts they are. When they call and ask what Congressional district am I, we don't know what to do yet," said Trumbull County Board of Election Deputy Director Jodi Fiorenzo Dibble.
Dibble says she's never seen a battle like this over redistricting.
