Former U.S. Steel property marketed to oil and gas industry - News weather sports for Youngstown-Warren Ohio

Former U.S. Steel property advertised as potential gas processor/cracker plant location

TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio- A couple of local investors have purchased former U.S. Steel property in Trumbull County and they are marketing the land with other assets to the oil and gas industry.

Dan Crouse with Routh-Hurlbert Real Estate said the more than 200 acres between McDonald and Girard are being marketed to midstream operations, which are gas cracker, processor, and pipeline companies.

The real estate agents have highlighted that the transportation infrastructure integral to the steel industry is now available for the oil and gas industry.

Village of McDonald Mayor Glenn Holmes said "Looking at it logistically, the proximity to the Utica (Shale) and the infrastructure that we have available to us by way of highway, rail and infrastructure,  it'd be a primary location for a plant of that nature."

Crouse says he has shown the property to 15 companies but a company has not bought the land at this time.
