WARREN, Ohio - The Trumbull County Coaches Association handed out its long running Trumbull County Player of the Year Award on Monday night.

Howland's De'Veon Smith is this year's winner.

The running back became the county's all time leading rusher with more than 6,600 yards, including 1,751 this season.

Smith, a Michigan recruit, was an All Conference selection the past three years and one of the top backs ever to wear a Howland uniform.

"I feel honored. I just want to give a shout out to my offensive lineman; definitely my teammates for helping me accept this award. This award is for them, not just for me. I really feel honored," Smith said.
