ELLSWORTH, Ohio - A small church in Ellsworth has replaced a bell tower that dates back more than 100 years.

Church members gathered outside Ellsworth Presbyterian Church to watch as the new tower was raised into place. The original tower was taken down about five years ago because of water damage that caused it to lean.

"It means a lot to the church members," says church trustee Johns Bates.

Bates describes the church's location at the corner of state Routes 224 and 45 as a big corner Ellsworth.

"Everyone sees this place, it is kind of a landmark," he says.

The church raised about $75,000 to replace the tower. The original bell has been relocated to the new tower.
