Chili cook off raises money for Austintown football program

Posted: Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – People came together to help a little league football program in Austintown.

The first annual chili cook off to benefit the Austintown Little Falcons was held at Austintown Community Church.

People were able to sample from 12 different chili recipes.

Money was raised through the $20 admission fee as well as raffle ticket sales.

"It's a nice event for us because parents of the football players and the cheerleaders get to meet their coaches, our staff and just have a good time in an informal atmosphere," said Matt Hlebak, league president.

Last season the league had two teams in the super bowl.
