WARREN, Ohio - Many community organizations were awarded funding Tuesday.

The Raymond John Wean Foundation awarded more than $712,000 to the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative, Youngstown Neighborhood Association and the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership.

The grant is part of the foundation's Big Bets Strategy that encourages residents to be leaders while building community collaboration.

$125,000 was also split up between five other organizations including the Warren City School district, The Harwood Institute, Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, Neighborhood Ministries and Ohio Organizing Collaborative.

Each organization was awarded at least $10,000 or more to better their program.
