More than $10,000 presented to help YSU student programs

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The Home Savings Charitable Foundation will present three checks to Youngstown State University Wednesday.

According to a release, the checks total $10,300.

It's happening at Home Savings and Loan, YSU-Kilcawley Center Branch.

A $5,000 check is for the Summer Bridge Program, a multicultural student retention program designed to help students become more familiar with the academic and social experiences most often encountered by first-year students.

Another $5,000 check is for the Beeghly College of Education Boot Camp, a learning community for students of color within the Beeghly College of Education, designed to retain the students in the Teacher Education Program.

Lastly, a $300 check will support the NEO Regional Scholastic Art Exhibition, which provides young area artists, grades 7 - 12, regional recognition and opportunities to compete nationally for scholarships and awards.
