Chris Perez makes rehab appearance at Tuesday's Scrappers game

Posted: Updated:

NILES, Ohio- Mother Nature stole the show Tuesday night, as rain became a factor at Eastwood Field in the rubber match between the Scrappers and the Auburn DoubleDays.

Before the weather struck, it was the thunder of the Mahoning Valley bats that filled the night air. All ready holding a 1-0 after the 1st inning, the Scrappers plated three runs in the 2nd, thanks in large part to a two RBI double by Claudio Bautista.

The Doubledays would score a run courtesy of outfielder Greg Zebrack in the 6th to Auburn on the board. However, that would be the only run of the night for the Doubledays as the Scrappers pulled out the 4-1 win.

Indians closer Chris Perez made a rehab appearance in Tuesday's ballgame, working a flawless 4th inning on the mound. The game was called after 8 innings, as rain began to fall from the Niles sky.

Mahoning Valley hurler Kerry Doane was awarded the victory, pushing his record to 1-0 on the year. Deion Williams is now 0-2 in 2013, as he was tagged with the DoubleDays loss.
