NEW VERNON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A 4-year-old is recovering and doing well after a three-car crash in Mercer County Friday morning, the child's aunt tells 21 News.
Susan Wright, 21, of Meadville, was attempting to turn left onto Greenville Sandy Lake Road from I-79 South when the rear driver-side of her Toyota Camry was struck by another vehicle.
The crash happened around 11:15 a.m.
Wright, her 4-year-old son and another passenger, Dorothy Long, 53, also of Meadville were all injured and transported by emergency medical services for treatment.
The child was lifeflighted to the Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh for injuries to his head.
Glass, dirt and debris were removed from his eyes and face.
Wright was transported by ambulance to the Meadville Medical Center. She was released shortly thereafter.
The driver of the GMC Jimmy that hit Wright's vehicle, James Back, 31, of Sharon, and his passenger Dale Thompson, 41, of Sharpsville, sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene.
A third vehicle, driven by Benjamin Swogger, 19, of Clarks Mills, hit the passenger side of the GMC. Swogger was also treated on the scene.
Wright was charged for a stop sign violation.
