BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - The Western Reserve Building and Construction Trades group is helping build a better, stronger community in more ways than one.

On Sunday, members held a motorcycle run that benefits the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. The bikes started their day at the Operating Engineers Local 66, on McClurg Road in Boardman. The poker run took riders 100 miles through Columbiana County.

All proceeds from the event benefit the United Way and AFL-CIO Community Services.

"Whether its disadvantaged families or dislocated workers, it really reaches out and it helps so much to have an organization like United Way in the valley, so it just makes sense for us.", said Don Crane, President of the Building and Construction Trades organization.

United Way Marketing Director Tara Mady tells 21 News, "On average, we help one in three in our community through the various programs. We fund and different services we provide in the community."

Breakfast was provided by Panera Bread and lunch by Gia's Pizzeria. More than 75 men and women took part in the event.
