Youngstown couple killed in plane crash were visiting family

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The daughter of a Youngstown-area couple killed when their small plane crashed near Kansas City on Sunday, says her parents were in the area to see relatives.

According to the Associated Press, Melissa Lallo-Johnson of Kansas City, told The Kansas City Star her parents were in Kansas City to visit family.

Youngstown business owners John and Diana Lallo died when their small plane crashed during during take off from Charles B Wheeler Airport.

The Lallo family has owned McRoyal Industries of Youngstown since 1965. The business provides cabinets and seats for many food industries like Arby's, Mc Donald's, Wendy's, Chili's and more.

Wheeler Airport, located just west of downtown Kansas City, is used largely by corporate and recreational flyers.

Federal authorities are still investigating the crash.
