CANFIELD, Ohio - The Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio spoke about his personal experience battling addiction at an annual banquet for the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic.

Right Reverend Mark Hollingsworth has been sober from alcohol for 28 years. He spoke Tuesday evening at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic's annual "Hope has a Home" celebration.

Officials with the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic say Hollingsworth's story helps send their message that addiction affects all walks of life and there is always hope of recovery.

"I don't think you can get any higher than that in terms of the hierarchy of the church," said Doug Wentz, Director of Community Services for the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic. "The Bishop actually coming in and sharing his story with us, so hopefully that will send the message to everybody that this is a disease, that's what it is and anybody can get it and anybody can recover."

Also, Tuesday evening the Neil Kennedy Recovery center presented their 2013 Hope has a Home Award to One Health Ohio. Wentz says the healthcare service exemplifies their mission of recovery.
